Bruno Mars ha estat el gran triomfador dels Premis Grammy, en aconseguir el guardó a disc de l’any per 24K Magic, cançó de l’any per That’s what I like i gravació de l’any per 24K Magic. Abans de la cerimònia ja havia obtingut altres premis com el millor disc de r&b, la millor cançó de r&b per That’s what I like o la millor actuació de r&b.

Amb aquests premis, Mars ha derrotat a la gran favorita de l’any, el Despacito de Luis Fonsi o a Kendrick Lamar a millor disc. Tot i això, Lamar ha aconseguit fins a cinc estatuetes.

Alessia Cara s’ha imposat en la categoria de nova artista, superant a Julia Michaels o Khalid. Ed Sheeran ha vençut a millor solista pop amb Shape of you o millor àlbum pop vocal per Divide. El britànic no ha recollit els premis, ja que no ha assistit a la gala.

Foo Fighters han aconseguit el premi a millor cançó rock amb Run, mentre que el millor disc ha estat A Deeper Understanding de The War on Drugs. També han obtingut premi Portugal The Man, The National o The Weeknd, així com la banda sonora de La La Land.

La gala va estar presentada per l’humorista James Corden i va deixar un bon grapat d’actuacions en directe, com la Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, U2, Luis Fonsi o un grup de cantants femenines com Kesha, Rihanna o Camila Cabello, que sota el moviment de Time’s up, a favor de la igualtat de les dones i contra l’assetjament.

Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, DJ Khaled amb Rihanna, Elton John amb Miley Cyrus o Sting amb Shaggy, també han volgut cantar en directe.
